These terms cover automatic driving lessons with Drive with Clive. They're written in plain English. Nothing in them affects your legal rights.
1. Who we are
Drive with Clive is run by Clive Wright, a DVSA approved driving instructor (ADI number

"You" means the pupil. If you're under 18 and a parent or guardian pays for your lessons, they agree to these terms too.
2. Booking lessons
•
You can book by phone, WhatsApp, email or the form on this website. Clive confirms every lesson by message.
•
Please check the date, time and pickup point each time, and tell Clive straight away if anything is wrong.
•
Lessons start and finish at the pickup point you agree with Clive.
•
Lessons run Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
3. Prices and payment
•
Lessons are £46 an hour and are booked in 2 hour slots, so each lesson is £92.
•
A 10 hour block is £425, paid in advance.
•
You can pay by bank transfer or cash.

Clive sends his bank details privately after you book. If you're ever sent different bank details, call Clive on

before paying.
•
Clive may change his prices for future lessons. He'll give you at least 14 days' notice. A price change never applies to lessons you've already paid for, including hours left on a block.
•
You pay the DVSA test fee directly to the DVSA.
4. Cancelling and moving lessons
•
To move or cancel a lesson, give at least

notice. With less notice, or if you miss the lesson, the full fee is due.
•
If Clive has to cancel or move a lesson, because of illness, a breakdown, a test, a holiday, unsafe weather or traffic, you won't be charged and he'll rearrange.
•
You have 14 days to cancel your lessons altogether. The full rules, including block bookings, are in our Cancellation and refund policy.
5. Your licence and fitness to drive
•
You must have a valid provisional driving licence and show it to Clive at your first lesson.
•
Tell Clive about any endorsements or driving bans, and about any change to your licence.
•
If you have a medical condition that could affect your driving, you must tell the DVLA. Please tell Clive too, before your first lesson.
•
You must be able to read a number plate from 20 metres, with glasses or contact lenses if you need them. Clive will check this at your first lesson. If you can't, the lesson will end and you'll still pay for it.
•
If you need glasses or contact lenses to drive, bring them every time. If you forget them, the lesson will be cancelled and charged.
•
You must not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or medicine that could affect your driving. If Clive believes you're not fit to drive, he'll end the lesson and it will be charged.
•
Wear clothes and shoes you can drive in safely.
6. During your lessons
•
Lessons are in Clive's automatic car, which has dual controls and is insured for driving lessons.
•
You're responsible for following the law while you drive. Any fine or penalty for an offence you commit during a lesson or test is yours to pay. Clive will pass on any notice he receives.
•
If you're late, the lesson still ends at the agreed time. If Clive is late, he'll make up the time or reduce the price.
•
Clive may end a lesson, or stop teaching you, if you're abusive or put anyone at risk. You'll get back anything paid for lessons that haven't happened.
7. Your driving test
•
Please agree your test date with Clive before you book it, so his car is free.
•
Clive will only take you to your test in his car if he believes you're ready. You're ready when you can drive consistently well, safely and without help.
•
If Clive decides you're not ready, he'll tell you in time for you to move your test without losing the fee. The DVSA lets you move it for free with at least 3 full working days' notice.

Using Clive's car for your test costs

If the DVSA cancels or moves your test, the DVSA's own rules on rebooking and refunds apply.
•
If you pass in Clive's automatic car, your licence will let you drive automatic cars only.
8. Photos and your information
•
How Clive uses your information is explained in our Privacy policy.
•
When you pass, Clive may ask to take your photo for Facebook and the website. It's your choice, and you can ask him to remove it at any time. If you're under 18, he'll ask your parent or guardian too.
9. Complaints
•
If you're unhappy, please tell Clive first. He'll reply within 7 days and try to put things right.
•
You can also complain to the DVSA about a driving instructor at gov.uk/complain-about-a-driving-instructor.
10. Our responsibility to you
•
Clive will teach you with reasonable care and skill.
•
Nothing in these terms limits Clive's liability for death or personal injury caused by his negligence, or anything else the law doesn't allow him to limit.
•
Clive isn't responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses.
11. Changes and the law
•
Clive may update these terms. The version on the website when you book applies to that booking.
•
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
